Find Frequently Asked Questions & Answers | Walking Pads

What is the difference between a Walking Pad and a traditional treadmill?

A Walking Pad is a flat, compact walking treadmill - ideal for everyday use, working from home, and moderate exercise. Traditional treadmills generally offer higher speeds, often more powerful motors, and more training options for ambitious runners. The right format for you depends on your goals, available space, and desired intensity.

Are Sportstech walking pads suitable for apartments and home offices?

Yes - the machines are designed for compact walking and many models can be stored in a space-saving way or used under a desk. For rented apartments, we also recommend a floor protection mat to reduce impact noise and protect the floor. The exact noise level depends on the surface and your walking pace.

What speed do I need—and can I jog too?

For working at a desk, 2–4 km/h is often enough; brisk walking is typically up to around 6 km/h. Several Sportstech models go up to 8 km/h or offer 2-in-1 options with higher speeds—the exact maximum speed is listed on each product page. For intense speed training, a traditional treadmill is often the better choice.

Do walking pads have an incline?

It depends on the model: some offer manual incline adjustment, while others feature automatic adjustment via the console or remote control. This lets you increase the training effect without significantly increasing your speed. You can find the incline type and range in the technical specifications for the device.

How loud is a Walking Pad - and do I need a mat?

The motor in modern walking pads is designed for everyday use; often, impact noise on the floor is the deciding factor for neighbors. A suitable floor protection mat from our accessories dampens vibrations and protects parquet or laminate flooring. For older apartments: keep the surface level and avoid intense workouts late at night.

How do I maintain my Walking Pad, and what are the return and warranty terms?

Keep the equipment dust-free and follow the care instructions in the manual (including lubrication, if applicable to your model). The service promises stated in the shop apply, including free shipping, a 30-day right of withdrawal/free returns, and a 2-year warranty; details can be found in the legal notices and on the product page.
