    FAQs

Find Frequently Asked Questions & Answers | Speedbikes

What is the difference between a speed bike and an exercise bike?

A speed bike is designed for indoor cycling: a heavy flywheel ensures a smooth pedal stroke, and the athletic riding position allows for sprints and intervals — even while standing. An exercise bike offers a more upright, comfortable position and is better suited to steady endurance training. If you want to work out intensely and dynamically, a speed bike is the right choice.

How much space do I need for a speed bike?

Plan a little extra space around the footprint so you can get on and off comfortably. Dimensions vary by model — check the length, width, and height in the technical specifications on the product page. Thanks to the transport wheels, you can easily move your Speedbike after your workout.

Which speed bike is right for my height?

Each model has its own height range — you’ll find it in the technical specifications on the product page. The saddle and handlebars are adjustable so you can find an ergonomic riding position. Your inseam also matters: compare it with the saddle-to-pedal distance in the technical specifications.

Magnetic brake or felt brake — what's the difference?

A magnetic brake works without contact, making it quiet and low-wear — as on the sBike, sBike Lite, and SX175. On the SX200, a felt pad presses against the flywheel, giving you a direct riding feel, but the pad is a wear part. You can find out which system your model has in the technical specifications.

Can I train with clip-in shoes?

Yes, the sBike and sBike Lite do: they have combination pedals for SPD cycling shoes and regular athletic shoes. The SX175 and SX200 have standard pedals without a clip-in system, so you train in regular athletic shoes.

Can I connect my speed bike to an app or a heart rate monitor?

The Sportstech Live app is integrated directly into the sBike’s touchscreen; you connect the sBike Lite and SX175 to the app via Bluetooth. The SX200 is not compatible with Sportstech Live, but it has a tablet holder for your own training app. You can pair a Bluetooth heart rate monitor with the sBike, sBike Lite, SX175, and SX200.
